MYTHO? Lure of Wildness

Theater artists Anna Kohler and Caleb Hammond lead a team of exceptional Boston and New York based artists in an experimental performance exploring the relationship between muse and creator, subject and object, model and artist.  The piece is based on Kohler's experiences as an artist's model in Paris and the South of France.

In cooperation with Boston's [ bits and flow ] series, MYTHO? Lure of Wildness previews at Playwrights' Theatre for three performances prior to opening in New York.

Through a combination of live performance, video, and new aroma technology, the audience travels through Kohler’s personal memories as she recalls her artistic awakening as a young model in France. Kohler and her creative team create for the audience a world of heightened vulnerability and sensuality, a sensory experience of enhanced stimuli and vivid images.

MYTHO? Lure of Wildness features renowned performance artist Hapi Phace, video artists Shaun Irons and Lauren Petty, surround sound by Almeda Beynon with scent designs from Harvard team David Edwards and Rachel Fields. Other performers in MYTHO? include Alenka Kraigher, Katiana Rangel and Adam Strandberg. The play is being presented on the Boston stage by Timothy Ney, line producer for both Boston and New York is Bridget Balodis.
MYTHO? Lure of Wildness is funded in part by Fay Chandler Faculty Creativity Seed Fund from the MIT Center for Art, Science & Technology, and the Council for the Arts at MIT.
