Jacob Collier is a 23-year-old arranger, composer, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and multi Grammy Award winner based in London. During the Fall of 2016 Jacob was a CAST visiting artist at MIT, which culminated in a unique performance in Kresge Auditorium featuring the MIT Festival Jazz Ensemble, and an orchestra and chorus of musicians from MIT, Berklee College of Music, New England Conservatory, Boston Arts Academy, and UNH.

The wide-ranging concert included premieres of large ensemble arrangements of works from Jacob's award-winning debut recording "In My Room." Arrangements were done by MIT Music and Theater Arts affiliated artist Jamshied Sharifi and Jacob.

This film chronicles Collier's artistic collaboration with MIT, which highlights rehearsals, behind-the-scenes footage, interviews with the artists, and portions of the live performance in Kresge shot with 8 cameras.

MIT Media Lab doctoral candidate, Ben Bloomberg, who has been touring the world with Jacob perfecting the technical rigors of Jacob’s one-man show, is also featured in the film. Bloomberg and others implemented a system for Jacob to offer real-time improvisational direction to the musicians through the use of iPads. Jacob Collier will attend the screening.

Tickets will be available to the public starting September 1, 2017
