About the Performer

Ji Seok Kim is a violin student from Newton, MA. He is currently studying physics as a third-year undergraduate student at MIT, where he is a recipient of the Emerson Music Scholarship. He currently studies violin with James Buswell and chamber music with David Deveau. He was a prizewinner in the Cremona International Music Competition and a participant in the Cremona Music Festival, Vianden Music Festival, and the NYU Summer Strings Program, and was invited to the Sarasota Music Festival in the summer of 2019. He was also a violinist in the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and performed a concert tour in major halls through central and western Europe with the ensemble in 2018. In his spare time, he enjoys playing squash, travelling, and hiking.
