Featuring MIT student soloists, the MIT Concert Choir, and a professional orchestra; this program will offer two masterworks of the choral/orchestral repertoire from the Baroque era. Vivaldi’s “Gloria” and Bach’s “Magnificat” share many fascinating qualities including sparkling and festive music for the chorus and orchestra, gorgeous and expressive solo writing, and wonderfully inventive music that first and foremost illuminates these familiar texts of joy and thanksgiving.
