Israeli musician Florie Namir is a classical composer, songwriter and performer. She earned her B.Mus from Tel Aviv University and M.M. from Rice University. Winner of the John H. Rauch Composition Competition and recipient of Diploma D’onore from the Accademia Musicale Chigiana, Italy. An invited composer at Académie Musicale De Villecroze, France, the Czech-American Academic of Music and the International Summer Academy of Music, Germany. The Michigan based ensemble, Akropolis Reed Quintet has recently recorded her work Delevarnu. Her works have been performed by Juventas New Music Ensemble, Dinosaur Annex (United States), Meitar Ensemble (Israel), Kanazawa-Admony Piano Duo (Israel-Japan), Quartetto Mansi (Italy), Trio Elixir (France) and Prometheus Ensemble (Belgium), among others. Alongside classical composition, Florie has been performing as solo artist and with the JMT (Jewish Music Theater). She is currently completing her Ph.D. at Brandeis University.
