Classically trained pianist, Clera Ryu is an active collaborator in both vocal and instrumental repertoire. She has also appeared as soloist and coach in and outside of the United States. Ms. Ryu earned Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Collaborative Piano at Boston University where she received full scholarship and the Departmental Award. Prior to studying at BU, she was awarded fellowship towards Professional Artist Certificate at the North Carolina School of the Arts and there her study focused on instrumental chamber music, specifically on the works for Violin, Clarinet, and Piano. Besides working as a pianist in various colleges in the area, Ms. Ryu currently teaches academic courses at Lesley University and serves as an affiliated artist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She has performed internationally in France, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, and in various venues in the states including the Weill Recital Hall at the Carnegie Hall, the National Opera Center, and the Killian Hall. In the past summers, she worked as a repetiteur for the Metropolitan International Music Festival and as a vocal coach in the Young Artist Vocal Program at the Tanglewood Institute and the Franco American Vocal Academy.
