Michael Goetjen is a PhD candidate in musicology at Rutgers University, where he also completed an MA in musicology. He is currently working on a dissertation about Mozart’s concert arias and operatic culture outside the theater in the eighteenth century. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music with secondary major in History from The College of William and Mary. A harpsichordist and organist as well as a musicologist, Michael works regularly in both classroom and performance environments, having previously taught as a lecturer in musicology at Rutgers from 2015-2020 and served as Director of Music at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Berkeley Heights, NJ from 2016-2021.
