Seven extraordinary pianists celebrate composer John Harbison

In a moment steeped in serendipity, an all-star collection of pianists will gather to celebrate the piano music of Pulitzer Prize-winning composer John Harbison on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 7:00 pm at premiere Brooklyn venue National Sawdust.

The concert, featuring a program of artist-selected keyboard works by Harbison, will culminate in the world premiere of his seven-movement work, A Bag of Tails, performed by each of the seven pianists for whom each movement was written and named.

Distinguished pianists Gloria Cheng, Judith Gordon, Gilbert Kalish, Robert Levin, Ryan McCullough, Molly Morkoski, and Ursula Oppens will perform with the composer in the house.

This historic event is presented by Chris Grymes, founder of Open G Records, and pianist Molly Morkoski.
