Returning once again to the Killian Hall stage, the "thrilling" Ellipsis Trio presents the world premiere of the last chamber work written by the late, Boston-based William Thomas McKinley. The jazz-loving composer wrote Trio for Violin, Cello and Piano in 5 movements specifically for the Ellipsis Trio. Also featured on the evening's program is the work of another distinguished Bostonian, Arthur Foote, called quite simply Piano Trio No. 2 in B-flat Major; as well as Beethoven's, explorative Cello Sonata No. 5.
Come hear firsthand the "rare warmth and naturalness" of Amanda Wang, violin; Patrick Owen, cello; and Constantine Finehouse, piano, and you will also have the chance to learn intriguing facts about these works.
