About the Performer

Hane Lee (SB ’17 SM ’19) is a master’s student in the MIT Media Lab’s Opera of the Future group. Hane grew up playing classical piano, but during MIT undergrad, they were introduced to minimalist musical experiments and early electronic music. By senior year, they were exploring the quirky musical worlds of modern and contemporary composers as a performer. Hane is wondering about the experimental, philosophical, and human ideas that music can embody with the help of technology.

Hane has participated in the Emerson program for six years. They are currently studying with Bruce Brubaker of NEC.
