Spotlight on Sabar
Rambax MIT Senegalese Drum Ensemble
Lamine Touré, director
Join Lamine Touré and Rambax MIT for an informal showcase of Senegalese sabar rhythms and dance. Three rhythms will be presented during the showcase, combining both in-person and virtual Rambax drummers who have been playing together this semester despite the challenges of communal drumming during the pandemic. The rhythms will convey messages of believing in oneself (Kaolack), making peace (Ndadaali), and bringing good luck (Baar Mbaye).
Please join us for a post concert virtual reception!
*Approximate run time for event is 30-45 minutes.
