An Evening of Music Inspired by TESS
TESS is the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite, an MIT-led NASA mission to discover new planets around nearby stars.
The program includes the latest public update of the first year of the TESS Mission with speakers Dr. George Ricker, TESS Principal Investigator; Dr. Sara Seager, TESS Deputy Director of Science; & Natalia Guerrero, TESS TOI Manager.
The evening will feature Boston’s Lorelei Ensemble performing works by Meredith Monk, Molly Herron, and premiering works by Elena Ruehr and by John Harbison. The lyrics for each piece are inspired by discoveries in astronomy — exoplanets, in Ruehr’s case. More information here.
