Join FaMLE as we continue our residency at the Voxel Lab with a concert of collaborative electronic musical performances. This semester we have been exploring a variety of small and large group performance techniques, using both networked midi controllers and music software as well as continuing to expand our use of modular analog synthesizers. In a time of conflict we are seeking to model how technology can create opportunities for bringing diverse practices and perspectives together, and create opportunities for us all to learn from each other.

Please join us for the MIT Laptop Ensemble Concert at 7:30pm on April 21st, 2022, at MIT's Voxel Lab located in the MIT InnovationHQ (Building E38).

The MIT Laptop Ensemble is a forum for the exploration of emerging digital musical practices, giving ensemble members hands-on experience with a variety of techniques for composing and performing electronic music. Concerts by the ensemble include repertoire drawn from historical electronic and computer music compositions, as well as new compositions by invited composers and ensemble members. Weekly rehearsals focus on concepts drawn from a variety of 20th- and 21st-century practices, including the use of gestural controllers, live coding, interactive music systems, experimental and improvised music, telematic performance, and multimedia performance.
