Reviews of "Persona" at LA Opera

Persona, based on Ingmar Bergman's class film, played at the LA Opera house from November 9th through November 12th.

The performance was written by Professor Keeril Makan, directed by Professor Jay Scheib, conducted by Professor Evan Ziporyn with video and lighting by technical instructor Joshua Higgason.

The Los Angeles Times describes Professor Makan's work by stating, "Makan’s use of pulse keeps you off guard by deceiving you into thinking you’re not being kept off guard. He creates sounds that you can tell are coming from instruments you know, but you can’t tell how they’re coming from them. That produces a different, equally unique, sensation of interiority."

Various outlets have written great reviews about the performance. For the Los Angeles Times article, click here. For the San Francisco Classical Voice article, click here and for the Broadway World article, click here
