Lecturer in Theatre Arts David R.Gammons will travel to Orlando, Florida to present his production of Eugene Ionesco’s THE BALD SOPRANO in the Orlando Fringe Festival, January 10-13, 2019. Gammons directed this newly-devised version of the seminal classic of French Absurdism with the company Anti-Play, in association with the Contemporary Theatre Program of the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. The production re-imagines Ionesco’s hilarious social satire with a uniquely American sensibility, drawing on performative traditions including Commedia dell’ Arte and Drag Persona.
