From Dec.23-30, Hershman-Tcherepnin, along with pianist David Witten, Shanghai Conservatory & East China Normal University, will honor the birth and musical legacy of Alexander Tcherepnin in a conference in Shanghai. Performances will include flute and piano works of Nikolai, Alexander and Ivan Tcherepnin, as well as works by former students and colleagues of Alexander (including Gloria Coates, Aaron Copland, Bohuslav Martinu). At the conclusion of the conference, she will perform 3 concerts as soloist with the East China Normal University Orchestra, and teach masterclasses for the ECNU flute class.
