Jennifer M. Yoo is a teacher, writer, playwright, and specialist in Japanese studies. Although she primarily resides in Massachusetts, she has at one time or other called places ranging from Japan to Hawai'i her home. She graduated with a B.A. in East Asian Studies from Wellesley College and earned her Ph.D. in Asian Theatre (Japan Focus) from the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa. With more than 10 years of teaching and writing experience, Jennifer’s interests center on Asian-American theatre and literature, women’s issues and representation in the media, as well as Japanese performing arts, pre-modern history, traditional culture, and cinema.
