MIT Gamelan Galak Tika performing:
Evan Ziporyn (b. 1959): Tire Fire (1995) - for traditional Balinese gamelan, guitars, bass and keyboard.
Ziporyn composed this work soon after starting Gamelan Galak Tika at MIT. It has since become their signature piece, with the MIT student-and-community group performing it at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, & the World Financial Center Winter Garden in New York, the Cleveland Museum of Art, Southern Exposure Festival, universities throughout New England, and at the Bali International Arts Festival in Indonesia.
