MIT Festival Jazz Ensemble, Frederick Harris, Jr., Music Director. Strength in Numbers, and special surprise guests and tributes.
The MIT Festival Jazz Ensemble honors MIT Institute Professor and one of America’s most distinguished artistic figures, John Harbison, with an 80th birthday jazz party. The event will feature several world premieres, Harbison’s vocal jazz music, small and large jazz ensemble compositions, his jazz quintet, Strength In Numbers, with Harbison on piano,and special surprise guests and tributes.
