Senior Lecturer Martin Marks joins the Harvard Film Archive for five presentations of Silent Hitcock beginning this weekend. No scores survive for any of these films, so Marty will play his own compilation-scores laced with frequent improvisation, by which he will attempt to follow the conventions of the period in a way that suits the films in terms of their atmospheres and beautifully visual narratives. More Information.

Note: The average running time for these films is approx. 80 minutes.  Films will be shown at variable speeds (typically for silent films), which means some will run 90+ minutes.
